This Privacy Policy explains what information goChaarana Rentals collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, and password when you sign up.
• Booking & listing information: pick-up and return dates, booking notes, listing photos, descriptions, pricing and location details you or a Partner provide.
• Partner application information: business name, city, phone number, and category interests submitted through the Become a Partner form.
• Usage information: pages visited, searches made, and saved listings, used to improve the Platform.
• Messages you send us: anything submitted through our Contact form, including your name, email, phone (optional) and message content.

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account, and authenticate you when you log in.
• To process bookings, connect Renters with Partners, and send booking-related notifications (confirmations, status updates, reminders).
• To review and approve listings and partner applications.
• To respond to support requests sent through our Contact form or email.
• To maintain the security of the Platform and prevent fraud or abuse.

3. How we share your information

We share the minimum information necessary to complete a booking — for example, a Renter's name and phone number with the Partner they're booking from, and vice versa. We use trusted third-party service providers to operate the Platform, including Cloudinary for image hosting and Resend for transactional email delivery. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Cookies & sessions

We use a secure, signed session cookie to keep you logged in between visits. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings, which will log you out of your account.

5. Data retention

We retain account and booking information for as long as your account is active, and as needed to comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise personal information that is no longer required to be kept.

6. Your rights

You can review and update your account details from your account page at any time. To request a copy of your data, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at support@gochaarana.com — we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your information, including password hashing and signed session tokens. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so while we work hard to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's privacy

The Platform is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post any changes here with a new "Last updated" date.
